TV is gone...

So most people are aware of my current dilemma where my (roommate's) 60" TV is gone. I woke up Saturday morning elated to watch the beginning of college football to find the TV gone. My roommate had sold it. Great timing. First weekend of college and NFL football, the start of Entourage, and also the MTV Awards show. He had no clue. The new TV (a 72") isn't arriving for a week. I was like "Dude, you couldn't sell it on Tuesday?"

This has been a building issue...for the Men's Olympics Basketball Semi-finals game, I woke up at 8AM to watch the game and the Comcast box was missing. He had taken it to get a new one even though the day before I had asked him to wait until AFTER the Olympics bball game...it was a Saturday after all. I watched the first half at Clyde's and returned home for the second half hoping he'd be back...and sure enough, he was and TV was already on the game. Great. As I threw myself on the couch..before my feet even hit the ottoman, there was a knock at the door. 2nd half tip just went off. It was an Iranian woman looking to "see" the TV. Now, I was watching the show in HD...so of course what's her first question? "Can I see the old movie channel?" She had no idea which channel she needed. My roommate start scrolling through the channels (not menu...actual channels). Game off...that took 5 seconds. After 60 seconds of pinching my leg, she pulls out some DVDs she wants to try. I immediately grab my keys and head to the Green Turtle. I watched the 2nd half with some great people...immediately after the game I go home and she had JUST left. She was there over an hour and half...and of course she didn't buy the TV....ha. What a mess.

So life without TV has been good I guess. I ran into an old friend catching the Sunday night game at Rocket bar, and I've begun trying to learn the guitar again. I still stink miserably so I got that going for me, which is nice.
